Hong Kong Government Announces Establishment of Web3.0 Development Task Force

According to an official government announcement made on June 30th by the Hong Kong Goverment, it has been reported that Hong Kong's Web 3.0 Development Task Force is now established. The government's statement aims to embrace the trend of Web 3.0 development, and actively leads and drives related innovation exploration and development under the premise of balancing "appropriate supervision" and "promoting development".


The task force is chaired by Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, and its members include 15 non-official members from relevant industries, as well as representatives of relevant key government officials and financial regulators. Non-official members will serve for a two-year term commencing July 1, 2023.
